US Activist Arnold Commends Obi Reported ADC Dump, Calls for New Constitution

United States activist Mike Arnold has issued an open letter to Peter Obi following reports that Obi dumped the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In the letter posted on his official Facebook handle, Arnold wrote: “TO Mr. Peter Obi, You did the right thing this morning. Walking out of the ADC took courage. It also took clarity. You named what most Nigerians have been afraid to name — that the same state and its agents that captured Labour Party in 2023 captured the ADC in 2026. Same machine. Different jersey.”
Arnold commended Obi for the reported move, stating: “For that, you deserve commendation. Not endorsement — commendation. Because you took a step in the right direction, and steps in the right direction are rare in Nigerian politics.”
He urged Obi to “keep going” and to take “the road of the people.” Arnold wrote: “Let APC and ADC split the Caliphate vote between themselves. Let the men who built this cage fight over who gets to sit on the throne. They have the same owners. They will end with the same outcome.”
The activist listed four calls for Obi:
1. Ensure displaced Nigerians have a vote.
2. Provide a pathway for self-determination in the ballot.
3. Call for a new constitution written and ratified by the people.
4. Call for a free 2027 election under international supervision, not INEC.
On the constitution, Arnold stated: “The 1999 document is a colonial contraption that mentions Sharia 165 times and Christianity zero. It is the scaffolding the Caliphate stands on. Tear it down.”
He concluded: “Do not compromise. The world is watching. Be the champion Nigerians need to end this 66-year nightmare. Sir, you have left the machine. Now join the people and help dismantle it. #EarthShaker”
This week, lawyer Ikechukwu Obasi posted on X that “Peter Obi is a political party. ADC is nothing but a birthday party without him,” amid rumours of a possible defection. Obi was the Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023 after leaving the PDP in May 2022.
