Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel to IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has condemned an alleged assault on a lawyer representing activist Omoyele Sowore at the Federal High Court in Abuja on May 18, 2026.

In a post on his official X handle, Ejimakor said the incident “brings to mind what MAZI NNAMDI KANU’s lawyers (including me) passed through,” adding that similar treatment “only abated (to some extent) after we secured an order of court” Ejimakor stated, “We can’t continue like this.”

During Kanu’s trial proceedings between 2021 and 2024, his legal team repeatedly raised concerns over alleged harassment and obstruction at court premises. In 2022, the defence secured a court order restraining security agencies from interfering with lawyers’ access to the courtroom.

Aside legal defence of the IPOB leader, Kanu, Ejimakor has been a strong advocate of human liberty, good governance and a better society. He faced harassment and arrest in 2025 while advocating for the unconditional release of the Biafra agitator, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
