‘I Consider This a Great Honor’ —US Activist Arnold Reacts to Kanu’s Commendation

US-based activist Mike Arnold has responded to a widely circulated public commendation from the embattled IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, calling it “a great honor.”
The reaction comes amid a press release issued April 25, 2026 by Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, on X on behalf of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. In the release, Kanu had instructed Ejimakor to convey a verbatim message to Arnold, praising his “remarkable effort in shedding light on the truth about me and my people” and stating: “You can count on the support of the Indigenous People of Biafra and myself. May do Elohim guide and protect you always.”
Responding to the message, Arnold said: “I consider this a great honor.”
Kanu has been in the dungeon in Sokoto since November 2025 after Justice James Omotosho jailed him for life despite serious legal concerns bordering on fair hearing and fair trial. The message marks one of his few direct communications to a foreign supporter since his arrest.
