A Nigerian young lady raises alarm, says she regrets donating her entire life savings to a church after being allegedly told that giving her “last card” would trigger a “hundredfold blessing” from God.
In a post circulating on social media, the lady recounted how she was allegedly manipulated to “sow a seed” with her last money in exchange for a miraculous financial breakthrough.
“I still regret giving my life savings of $2,000 to a church after they told me that if I gave God my ‘last card,’ He would bless me in hundred folds,” she wrote.
According to her account, she donated $2,000 worth of Bitcoin — her entire savings — to the ministry.
Reflecting on the experience, she said her perspective has since changed. “I eventually realised God’s blessings do not operate like a transactional scheme or a spiritual lottery,” she stated.
She described her intentions at the time as sincere but said she was “misled by predatory teachings.” She now advocates for “a more grounded approach to faith,” adding that “financial wisdom and personal responsibility are just as important as spiritual devotion.”
The post has reignited online debate over prosperity gospel teachings and financial pressure in some religious settings.
