Lawyer Ejimakor Slams Cubana Chief Priest, Says APC Primary Loss Reflects Igbo Discontent with Tinubu

ABUJA— Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel to IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has waded into Cubana Chief Priest’s loss in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election, describing it as an evidence of dissatisfaction among Ndigbo with President Bola Tinubu.

In a post on his official X handle, Ejimakor wrote:

_”Cubana Chief Priest’s epic loss of the APC primary, despite his open fraternity with Seyi Tinubu, is proof that Ndigbo (including those in APC) are deeply unhappy with President Tinubu. So, it’s Tinubu that actually lost & it’s an early evidence of what will happen in 2027, as I…”_

The comment refers to the APC primary for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State held on May 16, 2026. Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest and Imo State coordinator of the City Boy Movement, contested for the House of Representatives ticket but lost to incumbent Canice More Nwachukwu.

Cubana Chief Priest later disclosed on Instagram that he withdrew from the race before the primary after Governor Hope Uzodimma presented the party’s zoning arrangement, which favored Orlu LGA to retain the seat. He described reports that he participated and scored 14 votes as “coordinated mischief.”

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu and grand patron of the City Boy Movement, solidarised with Chief Priest on Instagram and wrote: “keep your head up,” saying losing a battle can open a way to win the war.
