Pan Igbo Activist to Army: ‘Leave the South East, Focus On Plateau, Kaduna, Other Insecurity Flashpoints.

ABUJA — Media personality and self-styled Pan-Igbo activist Vivian Ifeoma has raised alarm, calling on the Nigerian Army to withdraw from the Southeast and redeploy to the insecurity flashpoints, listing Plateau, Kaduna, Kwara, Ondo and Benue as priorities.

In an update on her official X handle Ifeoma wrote:

“Nigerian Army, leave the South East and focus on Plateau. Leave the East and focus on Kaduna. Leave the East and focus on Kwara. Leave the East and focus on Ondo. Leave the East and focus on Benue,” .

“Focus on the North and West, where there are numerous cases of insecurity ”she added.

Her position re-echoes a recurring complaints from some South-East voices who say the military’s heavy footprint in the region—checkpoints, raids and prolonged operations—should be balanced against escalating violence elsewhere in Nigeria.

Plateau, Kaduna and Benue have recorded repeated attacks and mass casualties. Even Kwara and Ondo have also witnessed militia kidnappings, terrorism, and communal clashes in recent years.

The message adds to ongoing debate over double standards in Nigeria and how security resources are allocated across Nigeria’s six zones, and whether there is heavy insecurity in the South East’s that should warrant a different mix of policing, targeted operations and a large-scale military presence.
