Ejimakor Blasts Nigeria Army, Questions ‘Major Victory’ Claims Against ESN/IPOB in Southeast

_Enugu, April 15, 2026_
Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has questioned the update credited to the Nigerian military regarding operations in the Southeast.
In a post on his official X handle, Ejimakor wrote: “What is the sin of Southeast that each time the real terrorists turn up the heat in the North, the Nigerian Army rushes to the media to post some ‘major victory’ against some phantom ESN/IPOB in SE? Is this ethnic-baiting or a hidden plot to de-market SE, the safest zone?
Ejimakor did not reference a specific military press release or date in his post. His comments come amid ongoing security operations by the Nigerian Army across multiple regions.
Recall that the Nigerian Army has allegedly linked the nabbed kidnappers in Enugu to IPOB/ESN. A claim that Harrison Gwamnishu stated could be misleading.
The Eastern Security Network is the vigilante wing linked to IPOB, which was proscribed by the Federal Government in 2017. The proscription is still subject of a pending appeal before the Supreme Court.
The Nigerian Army has not issued a response to Ejimakor’s post as of press time. Ejimakor serves as part of Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team.
