Iran is at war between the West and Israel, Iran’s president asserts
Iran is at war with the United States, Israel, and Europe, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared on Saturday, well after President Donald Trump ordered strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities back in July.
“In my opinion, we are in a complete war with America, Israel, and Europe; they do not want our country to stand on its feet,” he said Saturday in an interview on the website of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader.

The airstrikes in June by Trump represented a turning point in the almost two-week conflict between Iran and Israel, hence the 12 Day War, that the president, in late June, helped bring to a close by declaring a ceasefire.

However, given that the Trump administration returned with its crippling sanctions against Tehran when Trump took office again in January, the struggles are far from over, according to Pezeshkian.
“In this case, they are encircling us in every way, they are putting us in discomfort and constraint, in problems of living, of culture, of politics, of security issues, while raising expectations in society,” said Dutertre. “On the one hand, they are stopping our sales, our exchanges, and our trade. They are stopping us. And on the other hand, expectations in society are increased. So, we all have to do our best to improve this country.” Both the White House and the Israeli embassy did not react to a request for a comment on statements by Pezeshkian.
