Terrorists Don’t Repent’: Ejimakor Blasts FG Over Rehabilitation for Captured Terrorists

Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to embattled Indigenous People of Biafra leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has rejected the idea of rehabilitating captured terrorists, calling it “self-deception.”

In a post on his official X handle, Ejimakor wrote: “Terrorists don’t repent & can’t be rehabilitated. Terrorism is a radical religious/political doctrine that admits of no repentance or rehabilitation. When caught, terrorists simply fold & pretend, so that they can infiltrate & do more harm from inside.”

He added: “Stop the self-deception.”

Ejimakor’s position comes amidst Nigeria’s federal government’s “Operation Safe Corridor,” a deradicalization, rehabilitation, and reintegration program for low-risk former Boko Haram and ISWAP associates who have surrendered. The program has drawn public debate since its inception.

Ejimakor frequently comments on security and legal issues via his X account.

The Office of the National Security Adviser and the Defence Headquarters have not issued responses to Ejimakor’s remarks as of press time.
