Lady Bags Ph.D at 27 in Medical and Pharmacology Biochemistry, Becomes Youngest Scholar
Onwuka Ogochukwu Maryjane has announced the successful defense of her Ph.D thesis at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State (COOU), becoming a doctorate holder at age 27.
In an update posted on her official Facebook handle, she wrote: “Ph.D final thesis defense done. I humbly reintroduce myself Dr. Onwuka Ogochukwu Maryjane (B.Sc Biochemistry, M.Sc, Ph.D medical and pharmacology Biochemistry) Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra state (COOU). Doctoral degree holder at 27 years. Beautiful, Black and Educated. Call me big fish”.
Dr. Onwuka’s academic record includes B.Sc and M.Sc in Biochemistry, and now a Ph.D in Medical and Pharmacology Biochemistry, all from COOU. She is fondly also known as Ogoo Onwuka.
Her announcement adds to the list of young Nigerians earning doctoral degrees before age 30. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, formerly Anambra State University, is a state-owned institution with campuses in Uli and Igbariam.
The post has since drawn widespread congratulatory messages on her comment section on Facebook.
