Media Personality Ossai Slams VDM Over ‘Selective Outrage’, Cites Mirabel Case vs Blessing CEO Petition
Delta State born Media personality Ossai Ovie Success has accused the media influencer, VeryDarkMan (VDM) of hypocrisy and inconsistency, citing VDM’s recent petition against the self-styled relationship coach Blessing CEO over alleged false cancer claims.
In an update shared on his official Facebook page, Ossai contrasted VDM’s current stance with his earlier defence of a TikTok user, Mirabel, who was accused of fabricating rape allegations to solicit donations.
“The same Very Dark Man protected TikTok user Mirabel, who lied about being raped and received donations,” Ossai wrote. “Very Dark Man fought me when I was calling out Mirabel. Where was his outrage then?”
Ossai argued that VDM’s actions suggest favoritism rather than principle. “He’s protecting one person and targeting another, and it looks like he’s playing favourites,” he stated.
VDM, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse had recently petitioned authorities over claims that Blessing CEO faked a cancer diagnosis, a move that generated wide debate online. Ossai clarified he wasn’t defending Blessing CEO if the allegations are true, but stressed that “fairness should be the order of the day and not selective judgement.”
“I’m really disappointed in VeryDarkMan’s inconsistency,” Ossai added. “He seems more interested in stirring drama than doing what’s right.”
Recall that Mirabel’s case had trended after the TikToker raised false rape alarm and received donations from sympathisers. Critics, including Ossai, alleged the claims were fabricated for donations. VDM publicly countered those accusations at the time, defending Mirabel against what he called online bullying.
As of press time, VeryDarkMan has not publicly responded to Ossai’s latest remarks. Blessing CEO has also not issued a new statement regarding the cancer allegation petition.
The exchange adds to ongoing debates about accountability, consistency, and selective activism among Nigeria’s online commentators.
