AfroSoul Singer, Asa Speaks on Her Life and Times
Afrosoul artist Asa, declares that she has always had a life full of uncertainties as a means to her rise to global stardom in the music industry as a result of luck. In a chat with Channels Entertainment News, the “One Who Never Comes” artiste has revealed that she has had challenges associated with the price she has to pay for the quest for fulfillment.
Despite challenges, there are always instances to make up for the tough times. Asa is one of those who share a touching incident.
Approximately a decade after her debut album, which shares her name, brought her overnight stardom, Asa may proclaim that she has earned her place in music.
Given the sad loss of entertainers in the entertainment industry, Nomore loss, Prince, and Papa Wemba, Asa brings back to focus the humanity in entertainment icons and a reality of the struggles that successful artistes face as a result of being much in demand.
Living for the music and claiming music to be her religion, Asa is left with no choice but to reach out to her fans from Istanbul to Belgium and from France to Nigeria.

Asa is actually named Bukola Elemide, and at the very beginning of the 80’s, she relocated from Paris, France, where she was born, to Lagos, Nigeria, at the age of two, and she grew up there to be the artiste she is today, under the tutelage of music legends such as Bob Marley, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Sade Adu, Onyeka Onwenu, Miriam Makeba, and the list goes on and Beginning from the first album, Asa, which is a Cobhams Asuquo produced album that met with critical success in 2007 and culminating into the release of ‘Bed Of Stones’ in 2015 and various global album tours, the songs from the singer bring forth a multitude of emotions ranging from contemplative thoughts that come with ‘Bibanke’ to holy anger that comes with ‘Satan Be Gone’.
