Ejimakor Faults Alleged Arming of Repentant Terrorists, Laments Possible Deployment To Southeast

ABUJA — Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on Friday publicly questioned the implications of a viral claim that there is a move by the presidency to arm repentant terrorists to fight alongside the Nigerian Army.
In a circulating update on his verified X handle, Ejimakor directly addressed the alleged plot of the Tinubu administration to approve weapons for former insurgents to operate as part of a Joint Taskforce with military troops. The claim originated from a video recently circulating online.
Posing what he called a critical question on deployment, Ejimakor wrote: “Do you think the repentant terrorists (turned soldiers) would be deployed to the North to fight their terrorist ‘brothers’? Or they will be sent to Southeast where – for historical/religious reasons – their morale (to kill) would be sky high? Let’s talk about it.”
The post frames two scenarios: deployment to the North to engage former associates, or to the Southeast, where Ejimakor suggested “historical/religious reasons” could influence the conduct of the ex-insurgents.
Ejimakor, who is popular for fearlessly defending Kanu and Ndigbo, ended the post with a call for public discussion on the matter.
