Ejimakor to Igbos: Don’t Deny Your Identity, Resist Criminalisation of Igboness

Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has admonished Ndigbo to be proud of their identity, stating that being Igbo is “a birthright & a badge of high honor” and urged Igbos not to deny their ethnicity.

In a widely circulated post on his official X handle, Ejimakor wrote: “Being Igbo is not a choice; it’s a birthright & a badge of high honor. No Igbo should succumb to the abomination of denying his Igboness. Resist any attempt to criminalise you just because you’re Igbo. You were Igbo before you became a Nigerian without your consent. #FACT.”

Ejimakor described denying Igbo identity as an “abomination” and called on Igbos to “resist any attempt to criminalize you just because you’re Igbo.”

Ejimakor further added: “You were Igbo before you became a Nigerian without your consent,” ending the post with “#FACT.”

The statement comes amid ongoing national discourse on ethnic identity and representation in Nigeria.
