Media Activist Victor Calls for Bon Bread Boycott Over Dooshima Detention
Media activist Victor Sunday has condemned the detention of businesswoman Love Dooshima over her bread review, describing the detention as “oppression, repression, suppression and subjugation” and calling for a boycott of Bon Bread.
In a widely circulated post on his official Facebook handle, Sunday stated: “I knew it was coming to this hence my legal opinion on the matter. Some individuals feel they can play God because they have little connections in a few places.”
Victor added: “This is oppression, repression, suppression and subjugation which must be resisted by Nigerians! No individual should whimsically and capriciously gag anyone and Bon Bread should be boycotted!”
His comments follow the release of Ms. Love Dooshima from Zone 7 Police station, Abuja, at 12:30 AM Tuesday. Dooshima was detained after Bon Bread lodged a police complaint over her review of “unarmed bread.”
Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong secured her release after the intervention of the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu.
The Activist said he had earlier issued a legal opinion on the matter. Bon Bread had not responded to calls for a boycott at press time.
