Businesswoman Dooshima Released From Custody After Detention Over Bread Review

ABUJA_Ms. Love Dooshima, the businesswoman who reviewed an “unarmed bread,” and posted on her media handle was released from police custody at 12:30 AM today following the intervention of the Inspector-General of Police, according to an update by human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong on his official Facebook handle.

Dooshima was detained at Zone 7 Abuja Police station, after honouring a police invitation at 12PM on Monday, April 20, 2026. Effiong disclosed that a distress call was received that night stating she was still in detention.

The complaint was lodged by Bon Bread over her review. Effiong said he visited Zone 7 that night alongside two activists MamaPee and Randy-Peter Akah to secure her release.

Effiong confirmed: “Following the intervention of the IGP, Tunji Disu, she has been released at 12:30 AM today, Tuesday, April 21, 2026.” He added, “We will be back by daybreak.”

Dooshima’s review had referenced “unarmed bread,”
Effiong acted in his capacity as a human rights and public interest lawyer.

The Nigeria Police Force and Bon Bread had not issued public statements at press time.
